The Krupa Building is located in the Ancoats area of Manchester and includes 26 one and two bedroom apartments. The proposal is part refurbishment and part new build with the refurbishment set within a listed warehouse building retaining original features including cast iron columns and timber sash windows.
The new build extension is a contemporary design which reflects the proportions and materials of the adjacent listed building but expresses the roof level with an extruded zinc clad penthouse level.
The new and existing portions of the scheme are separated by a glass clad circulation zone. Each apartment above ground level features balcony details and full height glazing to living areas.
